Timetable

The timetable for Lund University´s processing of notifications of interest in becoming a profile area has been revised on 18 March 2022.

The main change are new dates for the panel meeting to evaluate the notifications of interest. This will give the university management and the deans more time to discuss which potential profile areas to invite to the interviews. The related dates have consequently been changed.

Introduction to the process

I. Open notification of interest to become a profile area

18 November 2021 – 15 March 2022 at 14.00
18 November 2021Decision by vice-chancellor on the profiling process at Lund University. See the decision.
22 November 2021Decision by pro vice-chancellor on management rules on notification of interest for profiling. See the managment rule.
3 December 12.15 – 13.15Open on-line meeting with pro vice-chancellor. An opportunity with the opportunity to ask questions about the notification of interest in profiling.Read the incoming questions and answers.

Open discussion forum with no pre-set theme 14 December
22 November 2021 – 15 March 2022Development of notifications of interest for profile areas. Discussion forums will be organised.
15 February 2022Contact persons send pre-notification with preliminary title on the proposed profile area and contact person’s contact details.

II. Assessment of notifications of interest and decision on profile areas

30-31 May and 1 JuneA panel interviews representatives of a selection of potential profile areas.
3 JuneAssurance from faculties on support for potential profile areas.
9 JuneDiscussion of proposals for selected profile areas and the whole that they form collectively, and in relation to Lund University’s research in the Vice-chancellor’s management council.
23 JuneDecision by vice-chancellor on which profile areas Lund University is to base its collective application on.

III. Application writing, dialogue and submission

5 May 2022 – 1 October 2022
 
5 May – September 2022Pro vice-chancellor writes the application with contribution from contact persons for the profile areas.
5 May – September 2022Vice-chancellor and pro vice-chancellor in dialogue with higher education institutes on cooperation, synergies and complementarity.
1 October 2022The vice-chancellor approves the University’s collective application, and the application is submitted.
